radial02_blue.gif Virtual Weatherman™ TightVNC Installation FAQs

 Q. If I install TightVNC is my Network at Risk? A. Yes! But then again any computer connected to an unsecure network like the internet is at some risk, and is only as safe as your network's worst protected system. By changing the access ports and using a secure password the risk of a hacker gaining access to the system is almost nonexistant. In addition, the TightVNC server need only be run when you need support - assuming someone is around to launch the server in your time of need. The Virtual Weatherman™  system also provides for remote enabling and disabling of the server, should you choose! Using your Web Control Panel you can remotely instruct your running Virtual Weatherman™ software to turn on the server so the computer can be accessed remotely, or to turn it off so that no one has access.  In this way only you, or Virtual Voice™ support can enable access to the PC if  the Virtual Weatherman™ software is on and running normally.
